This Week in Fashion: Tenniscore, Luxe Flip-Flops, and a Bold Step into Summer Style

From reimagined sandals by Havaianas to the tennis-inspired adidas x Sporty & Rich collection, and Balenciaga’s luxury automotive collab, here’s everything making waves in fashion this week.

Summer’s Must-Have: The Flip-Flop, Reinvented
Once reserved for beaches and poolside getaways, the humble flip-flop has become the unexpected star of summer fashion. Now spotted in city streets and paired with everything from denim to tailored outfits, this laid-back shoe is getting a major style upgrade.

Leading the trend is the Havaianas x Dolce & Gabbana collection—a fusion of Italian luxury and Brazilian spirit. These aren’t your average flip-flops: thick soles, faux fur, and bold prints give them a chic twist. One standout? A zebra-striped pair trimmed with black faux fur—perfect for vacation strolls or a stylish night out.

Gorpcore: Where Function Meets Fashion
Outdoor wear continues to inspire fashionistas, and gorpcore is still trending both on social media and IRL. The new Aigle x Topologie collection is a perfect example. The collab blends technical fabrics with modern design to deliver functional, stylish accessories.

A highlight from the collection is the "Bottle Sacoche"—a compact bag designed to carry a water bottle along with daily essentials like a wallet or umbrella. Made from 100% recycled polyester fabric scraps, it’s as eco-conscious as it is practical.

The Color of the Season: Butter Yellow
Butter yellow is back and brighter than ever. After dominating spring runways, this soft, sunny hue is now taking over summer wardrobes.

GANT’s striped butter-yellow linen shirt is a perfect seasonal staple. Breezy and polished, it pairs effortlessly with denim shorts for the beach or navy trousers for the office. The shirt is part of GANT’s new casual-chic collection, set to debut at Château de Théoule on the Côte d’Azur, from May through October 2025.

Tenniscore Takes the Lead
Just in time for Roland-Garros, the “tenniscore” trend is serving major style points. Inspired by tennis icon Naomi Osaka and her bold courtside looks, the aesthetic is both retro and refined.

The new adidas x Sporty & Rich collection brings it to life with reimagined classics: the 2000s "Adizero Adios" sneaker gets a green and navy makeover, while the "adidas Originals Blanc" returns in suede and leather. The capsule includes preppy polos, skorts, knit sweaters, and matching caps, offering a full tennis-inspired wardrobe for both play and everyday wear.

When Fashion Meets Fast Cars
Fashion has no limits—and Balenciaga proves it with a stylish foray into the world of luxury automobiles. As part of its “Art in Stores” project, the brand showcases sculptures by artist Yngve Holen, crafted from Lamborghini Temerario parts, in select store windows.

These pieces echo Balenciaga’s Fall/Winter 2025–2026 collection, which features ready-to-wear, jewelry, and accessories inspired by the legendary car brand. The result is a sportswear-chic capsule that merges speed, style, and high fashion.

The Essential Summer Sneaker
While sandals and slides dominate summer trends, a pair of classic white sneakers is still a wardrobe essential.

This season, Superga has teamed up with Breton brand Armor-Lux to reinvent its timeless 2750 sneaker. The result? A white summer shoe adorned with navy and white hand-embroidered details, evoking the coastal charm of Brittany. Stylish, versatile, and oh-so-French.
